Bend, Oregon, USA

We live in the little community of Sisters, Oregon (our address is Bend, but we live closer to Sisters). The town got it's name because of the Three Sisters Mountains (Faith, Hope and Charity) that are nearby, and provide wonderful views for us year 'round. Every year (for the past 34 years), a lady named Jean Wells has hosted an outdoor quilt show. She owns a lovely quilt shop in Sisters. The quilt show has grown to be the largest outdoor quilt show in the U.S., and is always the second weekend of July, and is held on Saturday only. The tiny town of Sisters (population around 1200) swells to thousands on that day. Hundreds of quilts are displayed on rails, balconies and buildings. It's quite an event, and there are related activities the week preceding the show. One of the events is a Quilt Show/Garden Tour on Thursday (yesterday). There were 6 homes on the tour this year, and ours was one of them. The Garden Club ladies were here to help, and the quilting ladies were here to display about 10 quilts in our yard, watch over them and be ready to take them down in case it rained. We had about 350 people here in our yard, and it was absolutely thrilling to share our flower garden with them. They all loved it and we got so many compliments. The reason I'm writing is because the hit of the day were the delphiniums.......yours. I have a few other types, but the raves were all about the ones from New Zealand. I must have repeated myself a hundred times, telling them I ordered the seeds from you, then started them here. They all thought the florets were so much larger and more beautiful than the Pacific Giants or any others we're so used to here, and the colors were so vivid. People were especially in love with the blues, and also the lavender color next to the windmill. No matter what - pictures don't do the flowers justice! Everyone was curious about what type of fertilizer I use.......my sweet hubby brought me a load of llama manure. Forget diamonds.....this man knows the way to my heart!

Thank you for supplying us with the beautiful flowers and brightening everyone's day!
