delph delph

White with a hint of green, Green Twist produces some interesting seedlings like this one.

Delphiniums growing in our trial grounds.
too young   ready
Ths stigma on this floret is not ripe - too young to be pollinated.   This stigma is standing up straight and ready to be pollinated. Look closely at the end of the stigma to see it open, ready and waiting.
too old   delph
These stigmas have already been pollinated - you can see pollen sticking to the end and the seed pods beginning to swell.   No Anne, you can't take the flowers back to Dawson Creek, BC - only the seed!

A field of blue bending in a breeze.   This plant has shown remarkable consistency over three years now. I think we will have to propagate it for sale.

Yet another unusual type from an experimental cross. But will it be the same next year?   Blues with black bees are very popular. We're working on ones with yellow bees too.

Purple Passion on trial. This seedline is almost like a clone.   Keeping good records is important. These seedlings are the result of self pollination.

One of the latest Dusky Maidens crosses.   A Sweetheart.
